This warming slow cooker chai requires little effort – just allow plenty of time for it to bubble away.
Ingredients
- 40g ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
- ¼ cup loose black tea leaves
- 4 sticks cinnamon
- ½ tsp whole black pepper
- 6 cloves
- 8 cardamom pods, cracked
- 3 star anise
- 1L soy milk
- Honey, to taste

In the pot of your slow cooker, add the ginger, tea spices and cover with 1L boiling water. Set your slow cooker to high, and let steep for 10 minutes.

Add the soy milk and stir well to combine. Reduce the heat to low and cook, partially covered, for 4–8 hours or until infused to your liking.

Add honey to taste and strain well before serving.
